- One of our department professors, Assoc. Dr. Tuğba Yılmaz's study with Research Assistant Gözde Akkaya was published in the journal Current Approaches in Psychiatry.

- Research indicates a close association between grazing, classified as disordered eating, and both obesity and eating disorders. This study aims to adapt the Grazing Questionnaire into Turkish. The research encompassed exploratory (N= 181) and confirmatory (N= 180) factor analyses with a sample of 361 community-based participants aged 18 to 30. Principal component analysis revealed a two-factor structure (uncontrollability, grazing behaviors) explaining 63.40% of the total variance, with eigenvalues surpassing 1. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient stood at .86. In assessing construct validity, the Grazing Questionnaire exhibited meaningful correlations with the Binge Eating Scale (r= .60, p< .01), body mass index (r= .23, p< .01), and subscales of the Leahy Emotional Schema Scale. Discriminant validity, evaluated through independent samples t-test analysis, showcased significant distinctions between groups with an eating disorder diagnosis or psychological support and those without such diagnoses or support in terms of grazing behaviors. These findings affirm that the Turkish version of the Grazing Questionnaire serves as a valid and reliable tool for evaluating individuals’ grazing behaviors and the feeling of loss of control during eating within a community-based sample. Moreover, the scale's structure aligns closely with its original form. Psychologists and psychiatrists can employ the the Grazing Questionnaire as an effective measurement tool to assess and identify distinctive features associated with eating behaviors.

- One of our department professors, Assoc. Dr. Tuğba Yılmaz's work with her colleagues was published in the Turkish Review of Communication Studies journal.

- This study examines the effects of the communication contents designed in the context of COVID-19 on individuals’ protection motivations and behaviors. It aims to understand the mechanism for increasing the protection motivation of individuals and to develop communication processes that will activate this mechanism, based on the importance of individual measures in avoiding the negative consequences of COVID-19. The research carried out for this purpose consists of two separate studies. The first study examined motivational factors affecting individuals’ intention to protect through an online questionnaire. The second study carried out laboratory experiments by making use of the between-groups experimental design, and the effect of messages containing fear and rational appeals on the motivation of protection was measured. The findings reveal that perceived severity, self-efficacy, and external response efficacy are positively related to the intention to protect. Additionally, fear appeal has a stronger effect on perceived severity than rational appeal. In the light of findings, suggestions have been developed to make the communication processes related to combating public health problems more effective. In this respect, the results of the study can guide strategies to increase the protection motivation of individuals. In this context, the results are considered important for the health of both individuals and society

- One of our department professors, Assoc. Dr. Seval Aksoy Kürü's work, carried out with her colleagues, was published in the Leadership & Organization Development Journal.

- It investigates the relationship between responsible leadership and prosocial behavior and the mediating role of psychological ownership in this relationship, and tests the moderating role of ethics and social responsibility in the relationship between responsible leadership and psychological ownership. According to the results obtained, it was determined that responsible leadership affects prosocial behavior positively and significantly, and psychological ownership plays a mediating role in this relationship. Additionally, a moderating effect of ethics and social responsibility was found on the relationship between responsible leadership and psychological ownership. It turns out that when ethics and social responsibility are perceived as high by employees, the conditional indirect effect of responsible leadership on prosocial behavior through psychological ownership is strong.

- One of our department professors, Assoc. Dr. Seval Aksoy Kürü's studies, carried out with her colleagues, were published in Current Psychology magazine.

- The effect of responsible leadership on customer-oriented organizational citizenship behavior and the role of relational identification as a mediator and moderator in this context were examined. Research results show that responsible leadership positively affects customer-oriented organizational citizenship behavior and relational identification plays an important role as a mediator in this relationship. It has also been observed that relational identification acts as a moderator in the connection between responsible leadership and customer-oriented organizational citizenship behavior. Especially as the level of relational identification increases, the relationship between responsible leadership and customer-oriented organizational citizenship behavior becomes more evident.

- The study of one of our department professors, Assoc. Prof. Tuğba Yılmaz, with Dr. Ece Bekaroğlu, was published in the Psihologija journal.

- Studies about online psychotherapy have gained momentum as the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on conducting them face to face. The effectiveness and therapeutic alliance in online psychotherapy have been examined and sometimes compared with face-to-face psychotherapy. In these studies, it was seen that mainly quantitative methods were used. Exploratory qualitative research is needed to refine the literature on online psychotherapy. For this purpose, in this study, data obtained from clients who received face-to-face or online psychotherapy were analyzed using the metaphor analysis method, which is one of the descriptive phenomenological approaches. According to the data obtained from 116 people, nine different categories of metaphors related to online and face-to-face psychotherapy were obtained. The most frequent metaphors about online psychotherapy belonged to categories of convenience, artificiality, similarity to face-to-face psychotherapy, and ineffectiveness. The frequent metaphors about face-to-face psychotherapy belonged to categories of contact, effectiveness, reality, and difficulty. When the participants were divided into two groups according to their age, the opinions about online psychotherapy differed in the two age groups. Similarly, the opinions of people who received psychotherapy with different methods differed for the online psychotherapy. Clinical implications and limitations were discussed.
